Theme

Biocentric Principle and Vital Unconscious (Biodanza School Module 2)

The theory of Biodanza is structured from a concept that Rolando Toro named Biocentric Principle (Life at the centre), which has Life as immediate and unique reference. It is inspired by the universal laws that conserve the various systems alive and drive their evolution. The Biocentric Principle establishes a way of feeling and thinking that takes the vivencia (the intense feeling of being fully present in the specific energy or emotion of this very moment) as reference. This is a proposition anterior from any culture, driven by the cosmic wisdom that generates all life processus, understanding universe as one global alive system.

How do we respect, honour and increase life in our own life and environment.

The Vital Unconscious refers to the cellular psyche and its syntony with the essence of the universe. Biodanza invites to regain this universe vital syntony as a healing process.

About Biodanza

Biodanza integrates all levels of the human being to feel and live fully present, realising and expressing our greatest potential. Embodying specific movements, with both individual and interactive dances opens our heart and spirit to enter the sense of oneness, peace and authentic loving. This system increases the healthy aspects of everyone, stimulating and developing all of our natural resources.

Based on spontaneous dances, guided movements, positive emotions and nurturing encounters, whilst immersed in beautiful worldly music, Biodanza enhances our presence and consciousness in a group environment that emphasises empathy and affection. Biodanza is an invitation to reveal a joyful nature, enjoying life’s happiness and spirituality by living “here & now” fully and intensely.

The group offers a warm support which builds confidence in ourselves and others. The goal is to increase our ability to dance and relate authentically from our feelings instead of mind (ego). Through an empathetic and respectful approach, participants develop their ability to listen to their own feeling, to act from that, and to feel and consider other people’s energy, knowing each other through their essence instead of appearance or role. This helps to reconcile us with life, its beauty and oneness. Social and cultural barriers fall down and authentic loving communication appears very natural and simple. Ultimately this leads to the blossoming of human beings and their relationship between them, as well as their openness to the world and a joyful transcendental perception of life and love.

Soto Workshop Melbourne Monday 14th March

MOVING FROM THE INSIDE

A Performance Lab with Hoffman Soto

“Creativity goes to the very core of what it means to be human and when we are involved in the

creative process we are anchoring ourselves in humanity” Soto

This three day movement based workshop is for those who have a desire to improvise, express and create

with others. Soto will guide us in movement awareness practices that will deepen our connection to our

bodies. Anchored in our physicality, we will use movement, sound, spoken word, drawing and creative

writing to give form to our personal stories and myths. Working together in this way will provide an

opportunity to gain personal insight and develop ourselves as artists and human beings. The workshop is

open to all, with or without previous movement/art experience.

About Soto

Soto is a master teacher of improvised movement theatre and somatic therapies, based at the Tamalpa

Institute in San Francisco. He brings over 40 years experience in teaching, performing and studying the

movement arts, including several martial arts, Post Modern, African and Brazilian dance, Japanese Butoh

and body work. He has taught throughout Europe as well as in the USA, Japan, Lebanon, New Zealand,
